Engineering had embraced the use of Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Connection software for years even as other units on campus blocked access to it. ECN liked that it encouraged the use of supported desktop PCs and lightened the need to run software and store data on laptops, which are inherently more difficult to provide support.

Remote Desktop Connection can be used from either as Mac or Windows-based PC to connect to a Windows-based PC. I wrote illustrated instructions first for Mac users.
